Hay had a score of 91.5 points on Thursday. He was one of two Canadians in the top three in the saddle bronc. Dawson’s brother Logan Hay of Wildwood, was in third place with a score of 88 points. Chase Brooks of Deer Lodge, Montana was in second place with 88.5 points. Dawson Hay, who competed on Enigma, earned $7,000 by posting the best Thursday score. Logan Hay, who competed on Alberta Moon, earned $4500 by posting the third best Thursday score.
Buttar on the bull OLS Tubs Big River, had a winning score of 85.5 points in the bull riding, and won $7750 in the process. Luke Mackey of Ignacio, Colorado finished in second place with a score of 85 points, and Wacey Schalla of Arapaho, Oklahoma finished in third place with a score of 84 points.
At the 2025 Rangeland Derby, Jason Glass of High River, Alberta had the fastest chuckwagon racing time of 1:12.15. The aggregate leader is Chanse Vigen of Calgary, Alberta, with a time of 8:28.46.
