The Abbotsford Canucks are two wins away from winning the 2025 Calder Cup. Over the last week they have won two of three games against the Charlotte Checkers in the American Hockey League Final. The Abbotsford Canucks are the top minor league affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks.

The Canucks won 4-3 in double overtime in game one of their best out of seven series on Friday. Danila Klimovich was the overtime hero. Left winger Sammy Blais of Levis, Quebec led the Canucks in scoring as he had two assists. Blais won a Stanley Cup with the St. Louis Blues in 2019. One Canadian scored for the Canucks. Ty Mueller of Edmonton, Alberta tied the game at three at 8:14 of the third period.

After the Canucks lost 3-2 in overtime on Sunday, the Canucks responded with a dominant 6-1 win on Tuesday. Left winger Arshdeep Bains of Surrey, British Columbia was the Canucks star as he had two goals and two assists for four points. Bains was one of three Canadians to score for the Canucks. The others were Phillip Di Giuseppe of Toronto, Ontario and Blais.

The Canucks began the 2025 Calder Cup playoffs by beating the Tucson Roadrunners two games to one in the Western Conference first round. That was followed by a three games to one series win over the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the Pacific Division semifinals, a three games to two series win over the Colorado Eagles in the Pacific Division finals, and a four games to two series win over the Texas Stars in the Western Conference Finals. Game four of the Calder Cup finals is Thursday.
